Job summary

Winter Park Resort is seeking a Lead Snowmaker for the seasonal period to oversee snowmaking operations on the mountain. The role requires maintaining high safety standards, supervising crew, and ensuring timely grooming and trail readiness under changing weather conditions.

The position includes training responsibilities, collaboration with supervisors, and the ability to respond to shifting priorities during peak season. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading a workplace team.
• 4+ years in apprentice/journeyman program or equivalent desirable.
• Solid knowledge of hydrant locations and pump house functions.
• Flexibility with all grooming shifts.
• Possess strong knowledge of Winter Park trails and ski runs for optimal grooming desired.
• CDL license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operation checkout and fueling of vehicle.
• Operate snowmaking gear and manage snow conditions.
• Train Snowmaker I-III and supervise in-field staff.
• Maintain logs of equipment used and performance.
• Ensure safety and compliance with company policies.
