Job summary

Prescription Landscape is seeking a Snow and Ice Crew Member to maintain safe pedestrian spaces during winter events. You will clear sidewalks, entrances, and walkways, follow the site plan, and apply deicing materials under Crew Lead direction.

You will operate snowblowers, sidewalk tractors, Ventrac SSVs, Snowrators, spreaders, and other equipment after training. Strong attendance, teamwork, and the ability to work outdoors in cold conditions are essential.

About this position

Snow and Ice Crew Member

The Snow and Ice Crew Member clears sidewalks, entrances, walkways, and other assigned areas using hand tools and trained sidewalk equipment. The role follows the site plan and Crew Lead direction, applies deicing materials as instructed, protects people and property, reports hazards or damage, and helps the crew restore safe access during winter events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sidewalk and Site Service

• Shovel, scrape, sweep, and clear assigned pedestrian areas to the required width and service standard.
• Apply approved deicing materials at directed rates and locations; avoid waste, overapplication, tracked material, and contact with sensitive surfaces or plantings.
• Operate snowblowers, sidewalk tractors, Ventrac SSVs, Snowrators, spreaders, and other assigned equipment only after training and authorization.
• Complete detail and cleanup work around entrances, ramps, stairs, hydrants, drains, loading areas, and other site-specific priority points.
• Follow the Crew Lead's sequence and communicate obstacles, refreeze, drifting, access issues, property conditions, or work outside scope promptly.

Safety, Equipment, and Team Support

• Complete pre-use checks, use required PPE, maintain safe separation from vehicles and equipment, and follow pedestrian, backing, fueling, and refueling procedures.
• Use safe lifting and shoveling techniques, rotate tasks when directed, and report fatigue, cold stress, injury, near misses, damage, spills, and equipment defects immediately.
• Keep assigned tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean, stocked, secured, and ready for the next deployment.
• Accurately record time and assigned service information and provide photographs or notes when required.
• Communicate respectfully and remain at the assigned site or staging area until released by the Crew Lead.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow site maps, work tickets, route plans, safety information, weather-response instructions, and verbal direction.
• Dependable attendance and ability to respond within established call-in and event-readiness expectations.
• Ability to use a mobile device and Company systems for time, work-ticket, material, photo, issue, and quality documentation as assigned.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, teamwork, and professional conduct consistent with the Employee Handbook and Company standards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Wear required PPE and remain available for weather-driven assignments that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and overtime.
• Maintain alertness during winter operations, take required breaks, and immediately report fatigue or any condition that could affect safe performance.
