Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SNICU) on 36-hour night shifts. You will provide advanced care to trauma, neurology, and postoperative patients in a 28-bed unit, using a patient-centered care model.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license or ability to obtain one.
• 1+ years RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN; BSN preferred with potential to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
