Job summary

Medical Director Services PC (MDS PC) in Argyle, NY is hiring an Attending Physician (MD/DO) for a skilled nursing facility. The position offers a salary range of $150,000–$300,000+ per year, malpractice coverage, and a focus on care in place with regulatory compliance.

APPs handle routine care while physicians expand census and RVU opportunities. You'll lead care planning, supervise staff education, and coordinate with local hospitals for continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Active NYS medical license (MD/DO)
• Current DEA registration in good standing
• Up to date CME requirements
• Experience in SNF, long-term care, or managed care settings preferred
• Comfort working with a culturally and linguistically diverse resident population

Responsibilities

• Perform admissions, monthly, acute & routine visits for SNF residents, on a regulatory and as-needed basis
• Collaborate with APPs on your units
• Manage medication decisions — including narcotics and psychiatric medications — with an emphasis on reducing unnecessary polypharmacy
• Lead care planning, discharge planning, and ongoing staff education
• Support the facility through regulatory and survey site visits
• Coordinate with local hospitals to ensure continuity of care for residents
