Job summary

Greater Chicago Food Depository is seeking a Benefits Enrollment Specialist to help neighbors access SNAP, Medicaid, WIC and other resources, guiding applications both by phone and in person. The role emphasizes outreach at partner sites and data tracking across Cook County.

The position requires fluent Polish or Chinese, strong communication, and the ability to travel as needed. Hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office in Chicago is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience providing direct service to individuals and families.
• Experience with public benefit programs preferred.
• Fluency in Polish or Chinese required.
• Must have a car, driver’s license and valid insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist neighbors with SNAP and Medicaid applications in person or by phone.
• Educate neighbors about programs and follow-up needed for enrollment.
• Provide administrative support for applications and documentation.
• Develop relationships with IDHS offices and partner sites.
• Track applications and program metrics.
• Coordinate enrollment events in Cook County.
