Maryland Hunger Solutions is seeking an Anti-Hunger Program Associate to advance access to federal nutrition programs and to reduce hunger in Maryland. The role combines advocacy, outreach, and technical assistance to communities across the state.

You will work with public agencies, nonprofit partners, and community organizations to expand SNAP participation, provide trainings, and monitor program outcomes while traveling regionally as needed.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
• Background in hunger and anti-poverty work preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present and engage diverse groups.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct outreach and provide SNAP application assistance and pre-screening support.
• Provide training to partner organizations, public agencies, and interested individuals.
• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase participation in public nutrition programs, with a focus on SNAP.
• Provide technical assistance and collaborate with state and local partners and community organizations.
• Attend community events to engage residents and stakeholders about SNAP.
• Assist in research, policy improvement, program implementation, and outreach on SNAP.
• Analyze policies to foster or hinder program participation and food access.
• Collect and report data on Maryland participation rates in public nutrition programs.
• Participate in coalitions and maintain relationships with community partners and government partners.
• Assist in public education about federal nutrition programs and policies.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
