Job summary

Maryland Hunger Solutions, an initiative of the Food Research & Action Center, seeks an Anti-Hunger Program Associate to boost participation in public nutrition programs across Maryland through outreach, research, and coalition-building. The role includes regular local travel and occasional in-person duties while the organization remains fully remote.

The position reports to the MDHS SNAP Program Lead and requires a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience, plus strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SNAP or other federal nutrition programs preferred.
• Ability to travel within Maryland and nearby areas; mileage reimbursed.
• Strong writing and public communication skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and provide SNAP application assistance and pre-screening support.
• Provide training to partner organizations and public agencies.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase program participation.
• Provide technical assistance to stakeholders across Maryland.
• Attend community events to engage residents and partners.
• Assist in research, policy improvement, and outreach on SNAP.
• Analyze policies affecting participation and food access.
• Collect and report data on Maryland participation and trends.
• Build coalitions and relationships with community and government partners.
• Assist in public education about federal nutrition programs.
