Maryland Hunger Solutions (MDHS), an initiative of the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), seeks an Anti-Hunger Program Associate to increase participation in public nutrition programs across Maryland and address community food security issues.

The role involves outreach, SNAP assistance, training, data analysis, collaboration with state partners, and travel throughout Maryland. Mileage is reimbursable; some in-person duties are required in a fully remote organization.

Qualifications

• Background in hunger and anti-poverty work preferred.
• Commitment to social justice and racial equity.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel locally for meetings and outreach.
• Conversant in Spanish a plus.

Responsabilités

• Conduct outreach and provide SNAP application assistance and support with SNAP pre-screening, redeterminations, and related questions.
• Provide training to partner organizations, public agencies, and interested individuals.
• Assist in development/implementation of strategies to increase participation in public nutrition programs with a focus on SNAP.
• Provide technical assistance and collaborate with stakeholders across Maryland.
• Attend community outreach events to engage residents and organizations about SNAP.
• Assist in research, policy improvement, and outreach on SNAP.
• Collect and report data on Maryland participation rates in public nutrition programs.
