The Department of Social Services (DSS) invites applications for a Principal Administrative Associate, III to serve as SNAP Deputy Director. You will coordinate site supervisors, ensure compliant eligibility processing, and liaise with hearings and QA units to support fair determinations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years clerical/administrative experience, one year in supervision.
  • Associate degree/60 credits plus 3 years clerical/administrative experience including supervisory.
  • Four-year high school diploma plus 4 years clerical/administrative experience including supervisory.
  • Education above high school level may be substituted for clerical/administrative experience at a rate of 30 sem credits for 6 months up to 3 years, with supervisory requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide guidance to section supervisors overseeing food stamps reception, application and recertification processing units.
  • Interpret Federal/State procedures to resolve eligibility issues; liaise with Fair Hearing unit for proper adjudication.
  • Monitor site issues; authorize emergency payments; guide in difficult/unusual cases.
  • Review weekly activities; prepare reports detailing Food Stamp activities for Site and Regional Managers.
  • Audit food stamp cases with OQA to ensure proper eligibility and compliance with guidelines.
  • Oversee implementation of new/revised food stamp policies; monitor scheduling and processing; review outcome reports.

Education

Baccalaureate degree + 2 years clerical/administrative experience
Associate degree / 60 semester credits + 3 years clerical/administrative experience incl supervisory
High school diploma + 4 years clerical/administrative experience incl supervisory
High school diploma + substitution options: 30 sem credits = 6 months experience up to 3 years
