Job summary

Nordic Valley is seeking a Snack Shack Cashier / Beer Server to be a front-line ambassador, delivering fast, friendly service to guests on the mountain. You will process orders and payments, enter items into the POS system, and serve beer in compliance with Utah law and our Responsible Alcohol Service Plan.

The ideal candidate is energetic, guest-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, with reliable cash handling skills, strong communication, and a flexible weekend/holiday schedule

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age (to sell and serve alcohol in Utah).
• Utah DABS-approved alcohol server certification required or obtain before first shift.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during peak ski season.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide a positive service experience.
• Take and enter food and beverage orders into POS system.
• Process payments accurately and balance cash drawer at shift start/end.
• Serve beer in compliance with Utah law and alcohol plan.
• Answer questions about menu, ingredients, and allergens.
• Keep counters and guest areas clean and stocked throughout shift.
• Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies run low.
• Assist with opening/closing and event support.

See the full list of employee perks on our website.Key Responsibilities:Greet every guest warmly and create a positive service experience.Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.Process all payment transactions (cash, credit card, and other methods) efficiently and responsibly; count and balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.Serve beer in full compliance with Utah law and the Nordic Valley Responsible Alcohol Service Plan, including verifying guest age and identification and refusing service when required.Answer guest questions about menu items, including ingredients and potential allergens.Keep the counter, condiment stations, and guest areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout each shift.Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low.Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning equipment and service areas.Support event functions as needed.Collaborate with team members, communicate effectively, and help maintain a positive work environment.Follow supervisor direction and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequiredMust be at least 21 years of age (required to sell and serve alcohol in Utah).Must hold, or obtain before the first shift serving alcohol, a current Utah DABS-approved alcohol server training/education certification (e.g., an on-premise seller-server certificate). Certification must be kept current per state renewal requirements.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays, especially during peak ski season.PreferredPrevious cash-handling or guest-service experience.Experience in a similar food-and-beverage or resort role.Physical RequirementsThe following are essential functions that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:Stand and move for extended periods.Work in varying temperature and outdoor/indoor conditions typical of a mountain resort.Lift and carry items, such as boxes of supplies, up to 25 lbs.
