Job summary

Mer-Mar Electronics is seeking an SMT Touch-Up & Rework Technician to perform precision soldering on PCBAs within the SMT assembly area per established procedures and work instructions.

The role requires reading drawings, BOMs, and manuals; maintaining safety with PPE; detecting equipment malfunctions; and coordinating with Senior Technician and QC to resolve issues while ensuring traceability of the product. Knowledge of IPC/J-STD standards is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• SMT Touch-Up & Rework Technician performs duties in SMT assembly per procedures.
• Must work safely and wear PPE to prevent injuries.
• Detects malfunctions of assembly equipment via visual/auditory cues.
• Communicates with Senior Technician and QC to resolve quality issues.
• Makes entries into Travelers, Time Standards and Work Order Document Package.
• Maintains traceability of product.

The SMT Touch-Up & Rework Technician is responsible for performing various duties within the SMT assembly area in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.

• Precision Soldering on PCBAs
• The Operator must be able to interpret drawings, bills of material, manuals and other work instructions.
• Must work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries, this includes wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses.
• Detects malfunctions of the assembly equipment through visual and audio ques.
• Communicates with the Senior Technician and QC personnel to resolve quality issues.
• Makes appropriate entries into Travelers, Time Standards and the Work Order Document Package.
• Maintains traceability of product.

Preferred, But Not Required

• 2-Years experience Soldering Electronic Components for PCBAs
• IPC 610 trained
• JEDEC J-STD-001 trained
• Extra IPC standards knowledge is a plus
• Familiar with ESD / MSL requirements for components and PCB/PCBAs
