Job summary

Manufacturing Inc is seeking a detail-oriented SMT Repair Technician to join our production team in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair SMT PCBs/PCBAs, with training available for motivated candidates.

Responsibilities include SMT and Through hole repairs, using hot air tools and a precision solder station, with magnification for delicate components. Opportunity for growth into lead quality inspector roles.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in SMT repair, PCB rework or electronics assembly preferred (will train motivated candidates).
• Proficiency in hand solder techniques and fine-pitch rework using hot air tools.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and IPC standards.
• Strong eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity with microscopic work.
• Must pass a standard background check; drug screening not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair SMT and Through hole components on PCB assemblies.
• Perform fine-pitch component removal and rework with hot air tools and a precision solder station.
• Use microscopes and magnification tools to apply clean, accurate solder to micro-components.
• Read schematics and IPC standards to perform through-hole and surface-mount repairs.
• Conduct visual inspections of solder joints and component alignment.
• Maintain a clean warehouse environment and follow ESD safety standards.

• Maintain clean work areas in our warehouse facility and adhere strictly to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety standards.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Experience: 1+ years of experience in SMT repair, PCB rework, or general Electronics Assembly preferred (will train motivated candidates).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency or aptitude in hand solder techniques, fine-pitch Through hole rework, and utilizing hot air tools.
• Visual Acuity: Ability to perform detailed rework under a microscope for extended periods.
• IPC Standards: Knowledge of IPC-A-610 or IPC-7711/7721 standards is a strong plus for any aspiring quality inspector.
• Core Abilities: Strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to read technical schematics.
• Hiring Requirements: Must pass a standard background check. (Drug screening is not required for this position).
