Job summary

MER-MAR Electronics Inc. is seeking an SMT Touch-Up & Rework Technician to perform duties in the SMT assembly area, following established procedures and work instructions.

You will precision-solder PCBAs, interpret drawings and BOMs, maintain safety, detect equipment malfunctions, communicate with Senior Technician and QC, log entries, and ensure traceability of products. The role requires meticulous attention to process, adherence to safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Detects malfunctions of assembly equipment and communicates with Senior Technician and QC to resolve issues.
• Make entries into Travelers, Time Standards and Work Order Document Package.
• Maintain traceability of product.

Job Description

The SMT Touch-Up & Rework Technician is responsible for performing various duties within the SMT assembly area in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.

• Precision Soldering on PCBAs
• The Operator must be able to interpret drawings, bills of material, manuals and other work instructions.
• Must work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries, this includes wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses.
• Detects malfunctions of the assembly equipment through visual and audio ques.
• Communicates with the Senior Technician and QC personnel to resolve quality issues.
• Makes appropriate entries into Travelers, Time Standards and the Work Order Document Package.
• Maintains traceability of product.

Preferred, but not Required

• 2-Years experience Soldering Electronic Components for PCBAs
• IPC 610 trained
• JEDEC J-STD-001 trained
• Extra IPC standards knowledge is a plus
• Familiar with ESD / MSL requirements for components and PCB/PCBAs
