Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) experience to join the Richardson, TX team. This role supports the SMT manufacturing group through establishing and maintaining processes, documenting workflows, and assisting engineers with data analysis and equipment setup.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in manufacturing, SMT familiarity (1–2 years preferred), and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing environment; SMT experience strongly preferred (1–2 years).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; tooling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create manufacturing documentation (Visual Aids, Process Flows, Deviations, Forms).
• Support data collection, preparation, and analysis for Manufacturing Engineers.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on SMT equipment.
• Develop SOPs and docs for manufacturing equipment.
• Assist in tooling design and procurement (stencils, pallets, fixtures).
• Identify and implement continuous improvement to reduce issues and improve yields.
• Contribute to root cause analyses and corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct time studies and summarize results for Engineers.
• Assist process development and equipment qualification (IQ/OQ).
• Coordinate calibration/verification for tooling and gauges.
• Provide on-call support after hours; adhere to EH&S standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
