Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to lead the new SMT line for PCB assembly. You will commission equipment, optimize SMT processes, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness in an onsite Santa Isabel, PR setting.

You will troubleshoot, develop thermal profiles, and drive improvements in yield, throughput, and reliability while documenting procedures and supporting NPI and line transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• English and Spanish communication proficiency.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access program information.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support installation, commissioning, qualification, and acceptance of a new SMT line.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to establish production-ready SMT processes.
• Provide technical support for solder paste printing, SPI/AOI, pick-and-place, and reflow equipment.
• Develop and maintain SMT programs, recipes, and process parameters.
• Conduct process trials, first articles, and production validations to ensure repeatability.
• Troubleshoot SMT issues, analyze defects, and drive corrective actions.
• Develop thermal profiles and optimize first-pass yield, throughput, and OEE.
• Create manufacturing docs, SOPs, setup procedures, and control plans.
• Support NPI, line balancing, and transition of new PCB assemblies to production.
• Train Production and Maintenance staff and identify automation opportunities.
