Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, seeks an SMT Pick-and-Place Programmer III to program, setup and optimize automated SMT equipment for PCB assembly. You will use CAD data, Gerber files, centroid data and BOMs to ensure precise, repeatable builds.

You will develop component libraries, verify placements and coordinates, set up feeders and machine recipes, and collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Materials to resolve issues and support new product introductions and

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, verify, and optimize SMT programs for PCB assemblies using CAD data, Gerber, centroid files, BOMs and drawings.
• Develop and maintain component libraries with part numbers, MPNs, packages, dimensions and specs.
• Verify placement coordinates, orientation, rotation and package information for accurate PCB assembly.
• Set up and maintain feeder assignments, locations, recipes and production setup information.
• Review BOMs and engineering drawings to resolve discrepancies before production.
• Perform program verification and machine setup to ensure accurate placement and successful builds.
• Optimize placement sequences, machine utilization, setup time, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot placement errors, feeder issues and programming discrepancies with cross-functional teams.
• Support FAI, NPI and transfers by maintaining accurate SMT programs and setup docs.
• Maintain revision control of SMT programs and libraries while reducing waste and downtime.
