Job summary

FreeWave Technologies in Boulder, CO is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own SMT line programming, process documentation, and production readiness for NPI and legacy products. The role emphasizes hands-on floor support, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional problem solving to improve yield and cost.

The ideal candidate will lead tooling readiness, collaborate with Engineering and Operations, and drive corrective actions while maintaining quality and on-time delivery in a high-mix

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience in electronics manufacturing.
• 3+ years in electronics manufacturing operations including SMT, hand solder, PCBA-level test, and final assembly.

Responsibilities

• Own SMT line programming, program control, creation, validation, release, and revision for new products and changes.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product introductions, ensuring tooling, documentation, and processes are prepared.
• Partner with Test Engineering on test strategy, fixture readiness, and coverage improvements.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions with Quality and Manufacturing.
• Design fixtures and tooling using drawings, GD&T and electrical schematics to improve manufacturability.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements in yield, throughput, and cost.
