Job summary

Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority seeks a safety professional to support the Health, Safety & Environmental Quality Department. You will help manage SMS programs, analyze safety data, and assist in training and audit activities.

The role requires knowledge of OSHA standards, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to handle confidential information. Office-based with occasional field exposure; background in transport safety preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Safety, Science, Engineering or related field.
• Three to five years of occupational safety or operational safety experience.
• Professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CCMP, TSSP, CHST, OHST) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety databases tracking accidents, hazards, audits, near misses and metrics.
• Assist with safety training program development and data analytics to improve efficiency.
• Serve as backup on Accident Review Committee.
• Oversee internal safety and security audits for SMS compliance.
• Support Corrective Action Plans and closure tracking.
• Collaborate on security and safety issues arising from labor discussions.
