Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks an SMS Lead to develop and sustain the Safety Management System across Grand Rapids, MI and Clearwater, FL. You will partner with Plant Leadership, Quality Operations, and Product Safety teams to drive proactive to predictive risk management and a strong safety culture.

The role requires 5+ years in SMS/QA within avionics or manufacturing, with solid writing and auditing skills. Location flexibility supports Grand Rapids as the primary site, with Clearwater as a secondary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; minimum 3 years in manufacturing quality with SMS/QA processes.
• Experience implementing and sustaining SMS in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong root-cause analysis and documentation skills; audits and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of the SMS aligned with Enterprise standards.
• Facilitate risk identification, analysis, and mitigation with site teams and SRBs/SAT.
• Prepare and submit product safety performance reports to Site Leaders and Enterprise SMS.
• Monitor compliance with SMS policies; conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence.
• Support Change Management initiatives within product safety risk management.
