Job summary

Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Marlborough, MA is hiring weekend Smoking Attendants to join our care team. Weekly pay at $16/hour. Hours are Mon - Fri 1pm - 9pm and Mon - Fri 7am - 3pm.

As a Smoking Attendant, you provide residents with a clean and orderly smoking environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; on-the-job training is provided. Duties include assisting residents with smoking, transportation to the area, maintaining a safe

Hours are Mon - Fri 1pm - 9pm and Mon - Fri 7am - 3pm.As a Smoking Attendant, you provide the resident with a clean and orderly smoking environment.Experience & Education:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The primary purpose of this job is to assist residents with smoking, lighting materials and or help with transportation to and from the designated smoking area.
• Maintain a clean designated smoking area for residents.
• Transportation of the residents to and from the designated smoking area.
• Ensuring residents maintain a safe smoking environment.
• Keeps confidential any resident information she/he overhears or comes in contact with.
• Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations.
• Other duties assigned by manager.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
• Must be familiar with drug actions and interactions.
• Must have knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
