Job summary

Valle del Sol in Phoenix, AZ, seeks an SMI Housing and Benefits Specialist to help adults and youths in the Serious Mental Illness program access safe housing and essential public benefits. You will be the organization's housing resources expert, guiding clients through eligibility, documentation, and application steps.

Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, you will assess needs, coordinate with landlords and agencies, monitor housing stability, and provide ongoing advocacy and education

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associates degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
• Experience with housing systems, benefits programs, and SOAR/HUD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in locating, applying for, obtaining, and maintaining safe housing.
• Coordinate with landlords, housing authorities, and community housing providers.
• Educate members on benefits eligibility, documentation, and renewal requirements.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and other professionals to support goals.
