The successful applicant will evaluate patients, implement care plans, and manage patient care in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
• Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Manages care of patients.
• Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
• Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provides patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Float to units within competency as required.
• Cardiac Vascular & Post Surgical Stepdown Unit.

Education & Certifications

• Required Education: ASN. Preferred Education: BSN.
• Required Certifications & Licensure: ACLS-AHA, NIHSS, BLS-AHA, CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours, Telemetry, NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a MS/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting required.
• Must have a strong MS/Tele background.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Ventilator.
• Post-cardiac surgery experience.
• Post-surgical experience.

Schedule & Experience

• Neuro ICU Stepdown position
• Neuro/Stroke/ Neurosurgery experience REQUIRED
• 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• 3 x 12 hr shifts
• Weekends/ Holidays as Needed
• No On-Call Requirement
• Float to units as needed

• Preferred Years Of Experience: 5 Years

Other

Epic charting experience; Ventilator management (preferred).
