Job summary

i270 Solutions Group LLC seeks an SME technical authority to own the MBSE platform architecture, deployment, and sustainment as code. You will shape direction, set engineering standards, and serve as the customer’s architectural point of contact for Cameo, Teamwork Cloud, and related tooling in a cloud-based environment.

About the Role

This is the SME technical authority for the model-based systems engineering platform. You will own how Cameo, Teamwork Cloud, and the surrounding toolchain are architected, deployed, and sustained as code — setting the engineering standards the rest of the team builds against and making the design decisions that determine whether the platform holds up under real use.

The role is hands-on. You will still be in the pipelines and the configuration, but the expectation at this level is that you shape the direction rather than execute against someone else's. You will also be the person the customer talks to when the question is architectural rather than operational.

What You Will Do

• Lead the technical direction of the MBSE platform, holding a total system perspective across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains — and owning the relationships, dependencies, and requirements among them.
• Architect, deploy, and sustain Teamwork Cloud, Cameo, and supporting infrastructure as code (AaC) through CI/CD pipelines in a cloud-based environment.
• Set engineering standards for deployment, testing, documentation, and security across the platform, and hold the team to them.
• Mentor and develop engineers on the team, raising the technical standard around you.
• Extend the AaC and CI/CD approach to additional enterprise applications across the environment.
• Design and maintain integration interfaces between the modeling platform and adjacent workflow, ticketing, and automation systems.
• Own identity and access management design and troubleshooting across the platform.
• Define comprehensive test plans for unit and user system testing, and validate results.
• Serve as a technical point of contact to the customer on architecture and design questions.

Required Qualifications

Certification and background

• DoDD 8140 compliance. Security+ CE certification at minimum, held at time of hire.
• 16+ years of relevant engineering experience. [Confirm this floor is LCAT-driven. Paired with a required STEM degree it narrows the pool considerably — see the note at the end.]
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM field. [Confirm whether firm or whether additional experience may substitute.]

Technical leadership

• Demonstrated experience leading technical direction across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains on a platform of comparable scope.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards that outlast your involvement.

Modeling platform — the core of the role

• Teamwork Cloud and Cameo. Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining these tools — and associated components such as Cassandra DB — as code through CI/CD pipelines in a cloud-based environment.
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Working familiarity with MBSE practice and the environments it runs in.

Application deployment as code

• Expertise configuring, deploying, and maintaining applications as code (AaC) through Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipelines.
• Expert troubleshooting and solutioning ability.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Cassandra, MySQL, MongoDB, or comparable).

Integration and automation

• Developing integration interfaces using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy.
• Integrating applications with workflow, case management, ticketing, or automation platforms such as ServiceNow or custom-built systems.
• Working comfort with DevOps tooling — Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalents.

Identity and access

• Knowledge of IDAM requirements and technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.

Testing, documentation, and communication

• Demonstrated experience building comprehensive test plans for unit and user system testing and validation.
• Strong documentation skills, and the ability to describe complex technical issues clearly and succinctly to both engineering and customer audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional platforms deployed as code

• Applying the same AaC and CI/CD approach to other COTS applications — IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, SharePoint, or Tableau.

Cloud and infrastructure

• Cloud platforms beyond the primary environment — Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, or IBM.
• Cloud solution optimization.
• Maintaining API gateways and service catalogs in a cloud-based environment.
• Containerized development environments (Kubernetes, Rancher).
• Integration of virtualized applications, including application streaming or layering techniques.
• Cross domain solution development.

Observability and service management

• Configuring and instrumenting visualization tools such as Grafana or Splunk to work with applications.
