Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Abilene, TX seeks an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Analyst I or II to help shape the future of mobility. You will work on ITS and traffic signal projects, supporting safety, efficiency, and innovation on our roadways.

The role involves planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of ITS components, with collaboration across internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in CS/EE/Telecommunications.
• Experience: 1 year in analysis/design/programming for ITS I.
• Experience: 3 years in analysis/design/programming for ITS II.
• Licenses: Valid driver's license for state vehicle use.

Responsibilities

• Assists programmers with system problems related to flow charts and project design.
• Plans and schedules installation/testing of hardware/software and troubleshooting issues.
• Coordinates project schedules for installation and upgrade of ITS.
• Maintains ITS information systems, LANs, and information security administration.
• Develops ITS through design docs, data flow charts, and hardware evaluation.
• Keeps abreast of new technology to improve current systems.
