Job summary
Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an ITS Specialist to manage statewide traffic systems. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and repair of ITS, CCTV, DMS, DSRC, and related traffic signal & illumination hardware.
Ideal candidates will have strong electrical skills, the ability to coordinate with districts, and readiness for statewide travel. This is a full-time onsite position based in Houston area.
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equivalent.
- Experience with ITS, traffic signals, and roadway illumination systems.
- Experience in electrical installation and maintenance related to ITS.
Responsibilities
- Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, replaces and upgrades ITS hardware and software.
- Installs and maintains traffic signals inter-connectivity and control equipment.
- Maintains roadway illumination systems and electrical services.
- Coordinates with districts for traffic control and emergency response.
- Operates equipment and ensures safety and NEC compliance.
- Travels statewide and supports districts.
