Job summary

WPS Canada is seeking a technically skilled Field Service Technician to support automated parking systems in Southern Ontario. The role includes on-site service, in-shop repairs, and remote support, with a company vehicle and gas card provided.

Ideal candidates have an electronics or computer engineering diploma and hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, MS-SQL, C++, JavaScript, PLCs, and motor control devices. On-call coverage and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Electronics Technician Diploma or Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma from an accredited post-secondary school institution.
• or Computer Engineering Technician or Computer Engineering Technologist Diploma from an accredited post-secondary school institution.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux computer servers/workstations and operating systems.
• MS-SQL database engines; programming in C++ and JavaScript.
• Networking devices, routing and switching essentials; PLCs; relay logic.
• Electric motors and associated control devices; good organization; valid driver’s license; good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site technical service support for a large base of WPS parking system end-users in the Southern Ontario region.
• Provide in-shop repairs on electronic, mechanical and computer-based products.
• Provide customer telephone support and remote desktop support.
• Assist with installation, configuration, testing, training and commissioning for new WPS projects.
• Assist with in-shop quality control and beta/testing of product releases.
• Prepare equipment and software prior to deployment; occasional out-of-town calls.
• On-call after-hours service on a two-week rotation; overtime premium after 44 hours.
