Job summary

In-Focus Systems, a Twin Cities smart home and business systems designer and installer, seeks a Commercial Project Manager for on-site work in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul Area.

You will oversee automation projects from planning to completion, defining scope, timeline, resources, and coordinating with clients, vendors and internal teams. Responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, milestones, and change orders while ensuring compliance and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret project requirements, assess risks, and support data-driven decisions.
• Clear, professional communication with clients, internal teams, and vendors.
• Experience budgeting and finance to plan, track, and report project costs and profitability.
• Proficiency in contract management, including reviewing terms, managing change orders, and ensuring compliance.
• Previous experience managing commercial construction, technology integration, or AV/automation projects.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comfort with technology and systems integration; familiarity with smart building, AV, or IT solutions is beneficial.
• Relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of project management tools and formal certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• The Commercial Project Manager oversees commercial automation projects from planning through completion, defining scope, timelines and resources.
• Coordinates with internal teams, vendors and clients; prepares proposals, contracts and change orders.
• Manages budgets and schedules, monitors milestones, and addresses risks to keep projects on track.
• Maintains project documentation and provides stakeholder status updates to support customer satisfaction.
