Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is hiring Small Equipment Operators in Columbus, OH. You will operate forklifts and bobcats to move paper balers and other materials, load and unload trailers, and ensure safe handling in outdoor environments.

The role requires the ability to pass certification tests, adherence to safety policies, and good communication with customers and team members. Evening and weekend shifts may be required depending on operations.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Experience operating equipment preferred.
• Must pass written and operational tests to be certified to operate forklift and bobcat.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe driving practices while transporting, loading, and unloading materials and operate equipment in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Safely stack baled material without endangering personnel, equipment, or materials.
• Organize and secure stored materials according to policy.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment and complete necessary forms.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment (lubricating, fueling, cleaning).
• Monitor for signs of unacceptable material.
• Weigh, tag, log, and prepare baled materials for transport.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Clean waste from equipment body and wheels throughout the day.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
