Job summary

Northern Tool + Equipment in Rock Hill, SC, is seeking a Mechanic to service and repair customer devices brought into the store. You will source and order parts, diagnose engines, and maintain knowledge of our national and private label brands. You will complete all required reports and communicate clearly with customers.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines.
• The skills to clearly explain the diagnosis and repair of the machine to the customer.
• The ability to recognize and observe all safety and security procedures.
• The desire to treat others with respect and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• The drive to work with integrity, always upholding company values, while operating a profitable service business.
• Strong organizational skills and fluency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of small engine theory (2 and 4 stroke): lubrication, cooling, ignition and fuel systems.
• Certifications in major manufacture brands like Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.
• Master certification is a plus!
• Extensive experience with electrical systems, plunger driven or axial pressure washer pumps and unloader systems, hydraulic theory, and associated diagnostic equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Source & order parts for customers.
• Diagnose and repair small engines/equipment.
• Maintain current knowledge of Northern Tool + Equipment's national and private label brands.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
