Job summary

Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking a Mechanic in Raleigh to service and repair products brought to the store, source and order parts, and maintain strong customer relations. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail service environment.

You will diagnose small engines, stay current on our national and private label brands, and complete all required reports. This full-time role offers competitive compensation and benefits in a supportive, customer-focused team.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines.
• Ability to clearly explain diagnosis and repair to customers.
• Observe safety and security procedures.
• Treat others with respect and contribute to a positive team spirit.
• Operate with integrity, upholding company values while running a profitable service.
• Strong organizational skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of small engine theory (2- & 4-stroke): lubrication, cooling, ignition, fuel systems.
• Certifications in major manufacturer brands (Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.).
• Master certification is a plus.
• Extensive experience with electrical systems, pumps, hydraulic theory and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Source & order parts for customers.

• Completes all reports and forms required with work assignments.
