Waters Hardware in Salina, KS seeks a Small Engine Mechanic to handle repair work orders, service and repair Stihl power equipment, primarily 2-cycle handheld units. A minimum of three years of related experience and strong customer communication are required; Stihl certification is preferred but training will be provided.

The role emphasizes quality service, safe work practices, and timely warranty paperwork while contributing to a collaborative team focused on community service and customer

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Able to walk, reach, climb ladders, and bend to perform job duties.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Must have knowledge of 2-cycle small engines.
• Basic computer skills to access information online.
• Provide high-quality repair services on all work orders.
• Ensure the safe use of equipment & tools.
• Responsible for completing all warranty paperwork in a timely manner.
• Responsible for communicating special order parts for all work orders.
• Responsible for completing service work in a timely manner.
• Provide a safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized.
• Possess strong communication skills as customer interaction may be frequent.
• May be required to cross-train and perform other duties.
• Ability to participate in the equipment sales process is highly desired.
