Waters Hardware in Salina, KS is seeking a skilled Mechanic to handle customer repairs and service on Stihl power equipment. You will process work orders, perform quality repairs, and ensure safe operation of tools with strong attention to detail.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of related experience, solid customer communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. Stihl certification is preferred but on-the-job training is available.

Qualifications

Job Summary:

The primary role of the Mechanic is to process all work orders for customer repairs, as well as servicing/repairing their equipment. The range of equipment includes Stihl power equipment, primarily 2-cycle handheld units. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability and knowledge required for this position, including having a minimum of three years of related professional experience. The candidate shall also possess good customer communication skills. Stihl certification is preferred but will train as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Basic computer skills to access information online.

Provide high‑quality repair services on all work orders.

Ensure the safe use of equipment & tools.

Responsible for completing all warranty paperwork in a timely manner.

Responsible for communicating special order parts for all work orders.

Responsible for completing service work in a timely manner.

Provide a safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized.

Possess strong communication skills as customer interaction may be frequent.

May be required to cross‑train and perform other duties.

Ability to participate in the equipment sales process is highly desired.
