First Merchants Bank is seeking a Small Business Development Officer (SBDO) to drive deposit growth and deepen relationships with small businesses in Michigan. The role focuses on acquiring, developing, and retaining clients by offering tailored banking solutions that meet their needs.

You will build a pipeline, engage with local chambers, cross-sell deposits, loans, and treasury services, and collaborate with commercial banking teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in business banking, sales, or financial services with small business focus.

Responsabilités

• Acquire and onboard small business clients to grow deposits and lending.
• Develop strategies to increase core deposits and banking services for small businesses.
• Deepen share of wallet by retaining and expanding relationships.
• Act as primary contact for clients, delivering strong service and long-term relationships.
• Participate in community events and build a local referral network.
• Cross-sell products including deposits, loans, and treasury solutions.
• Ensure onboarding and account management comply with regulatory requirements.
