Job summary

The City of Aurora, CO, is seeking a seasoned Economic Development professional to plan, develop, and coordinate small business support programs. You will advise startups and existing businesses, develop financing options, and promote training initiatives in English and Spanish.

You will liaise with the SBDC, report on trends, and host workshops across Arapahoe and Douglas counties, with a hybrid work model and occasional evenings/weekends to support events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in small business development or economic programs.
• Experience with training and facilitation; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of business financing, loans, and municipal operations.
• Ability to advise startups and established businesses on growth and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct advising to existing and startup businesses in English and Spanish.
• Develop business plans, financing arrangements, and training programs.
• Serve as liaison between City and SBDC, maintaining ongoing communications.
• Analyze small business needs and prepare monthly updates and quarterly reports.
• Deliver training workshops and participate in networking events across counties.
