Job summary

Butler University’s ISBDC program seeks a Business Advisor to counsel entrepreneurs, deliver training programs, and monitor client progress using the Neoserra CMS. The role requires collaborating with regional leaders, engaging with community partners, and staying current on SBA and Indiana development standards.

The position emphasizes strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to support small business growth across the eight-county region, including Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in business advising, consulting, economic development, business operations, entrepreneurship, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one counselling to entrepreneurs and small business owners on business planning, financing, marketing, management, and operations.
• Develop and deliver training programs for local small businesses on key business topics.
• Track client progress using the Neoserra CMS, ensuring data accuracy and SBA counselling standards.
• Meet performance metrics set by SBA and Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
• Collaborate with Regional Director and Deputy to engage with local leaders and organisations.
• Participate in community events and stay informed about trends in small business and economic development.
