Job Summary

We are seeking a Structural Analyst to support the analysis and development of structural systems for space launch vehicles and related aerospace programs. This position will perform finite element analysis (FEA), structural assessments, and engineering evaluations to ensure flight hardware meets structural, performance, and mission requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience with NASTRAN and/or comparable structural analysis tools and a strong understanding of aerospace structural analysis principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis of launch vehicle components, assemblies, and flight hardware.
  • Develop, modify, and evaluate finite element models (FEM/FEA) for aerospace structures.
  • Perform static, dynamic, modal, buckling, and stress analyses as required.
  • Evaluate structural margins, loads, stresses, deflections, and failure modes.
  • Support analysis of structures subjected to launch, vibration, acoustic, and other flight environments.
  • Utilize NASTRAN and/or similar FEA/structural analysis software to perform engineering analysis.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, material properties, loads, and boundary conditions.
  • Correlate analytical models with test data and support structural testing activities.
  • Prepare engineering reports, analysis documentation, and technical presentations.
  • Work cross-functionally with design, systems, manufacturing, test, and other engineering teams.
  • Support design reviews, troubleshooting, and resolution of structural issues throughout the development and qualification lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience performing structural analysis within the aerospace, space, launch vehicle, missile, or defense industry.
  • Hands-on experience with MSC/Siemens NASTRAN and/or comparable FEA applications.
  • Strong understanding of finite element analysis, structural mechanics, material behavior, and load paths.
  • Experience analyzing metallic and/or composite aerospace structures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and communicate technical analysis results clearly.
  • Experience supporting space launch vehicles, spacecraft, propulsion structures, or flight hardware is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools such as FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh, ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar pre/post-processing and analysis applications is a plus.
