Job summary

Amentum's Space Exploration Division seeks a Structural Analyst to perform structural strength analyses for non-flight hardware in support of the Space Launch System and related NASA programs at MSFC.

You will develop stress analysis packages, collaborate with design engineers, and communicate results through reports and presentations. Proficiency in major FEM codes and MS Office is required, with strong written and verbal skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Eng required.
• PhD preferred or with experience; MS with 3+ years experience; BS with 8+ years experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required.
• Experience with finite element methods and failure mechanisms (rupture, yield, buckling, fatigue).

Responsibilities

• Develop formal stress analysis packages for ground support and test equipment using strength-of-materials and FEM methods.
• Interface with design engineers to inform preliminary designs.
• Prepare and deliver management reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with vendors and other NASA centers on structural hardware development.
