Job summary

BrightStar Care seeks a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide therapy services under a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. The SLPA will assist in assessment, treatment implementation, and program development for residents and students in the community.

Service areas include Harlingen, La Feria, Mercedes, Edcouch-Elsa, Weslaco, and Donna, with a schedule of morning and after-school shifts. We value ongoing education and qualified bilingual candidates as a plus.

Qualifications

• Current SLPA license/registration in the state of hire.
• TB screening and CPR certification.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong proactive and reactive decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
• Assist in evaluation process as directed by supervising Speech Therapist.
• Support development of problem lists, short- and long-term goals, and treatment plans.
• Monitor client response to interventions and consult with the Speech Therapist on modifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation per department standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Record billable treatment times per department procedures.
• Provide therapy services in alignment with standards of practice and productivity requirements.
• Participate in Quality Assurance programs as required.
