Job summary

Adoration Health is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist for a Home Health role in Hamilton, AL. This PRN position focuses on patient-centered care in a home setting.

You will assess, treat, and educate patients and caregivers, using evidence-based methods and a patient-first approach. A current state license and BLS/CPR are required; prior home health experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program (required).
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current, unrestricted SLP license in the practicing state.
• Current BLS or CPR certification as per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and communicate with patients to assess speech or language difficulties and determine therapy needs.
• Teach sounds production and voice improvement.
• Teach alternative communication methods (e.g., sign language) when necessary.
• Educate healthcare team, patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises to support progress outside sessions.
• Document progress and submit visit notes per agency policy.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• A minimum of one (1) year's work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current, unrestricted license as an Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
