Job summary

Adoration Health is seeking a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist in Auburn, AL to provide patient-centered care in a home health setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with patients and caregivers, documentation of progress, and education of the healthcare team to support ongoing therapy outside direct sessions.

The position requires an OT background per CAPTE-approved education, state licensure, CPR certification, and at least two years of adult home health experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Education program approved by CAPTE.
• Current Occupational Therapist licensure in State and American Heart Association CPR certification required; CPR certification may be offered and completed upon hire.
• Two (2) years of experience in adult occupational therapy, home health experience preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; physical therapy skills per competency checklist.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services.
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability.
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions.
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy.
