Job summary

Mountain Valley of Cascadia is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility in Kellogg, Idaho.

You will develop treatment plans, work under physician direction, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to improve communication and swallowing outcomes for residents. A current SLP license is required and competitive pay with benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current license in Speech Language Pathology as required by state law.
• Experience evaluating and treating residents/patients with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops an appropriate care plan.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
• Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
• Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
• Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
