Job summary

Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is seeking an experienced slot operations leader to manage daily activity on the slot floor, act as on-duty casino manager, and ensure outstanding guest service while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.

The role includes staffing, training, and performance reviews, with focus on guest satisfaction and operational excellence in a dynamic casino environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience in Slot Operations, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Thorough knowledge of Currency Transaction Reporting rules and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal, State and local gaming regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-guided, creative, responsible, high-energy, and able to work with other departments.
  • Willingness to contribute to multiple projects as requested; eager to learn new skills.
  • Passion for attracting, retaining, engaging, and building talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and current slot systems software.

Responsibilities

  • Manages slot operations to ensure delivery of excellent guest service and acts as primary manager on duty.
  • Resolves difficult guest service concerns in line with department guidelines.
  • Ensures adherence to all policies and regulations, including Title 31 compliance.
  • Verifies and authorizes jackpots per internal controls.
  • Assesses staffing levels and requests additional staffing as needed.
  • Reviews payroll and PTO reports.
  • Interviews, hires and trains new team members.
  • Monitors performance and provides coaching to staff.
  • Maintains guest relationships through regular engagement.
  • Reviews daily shift reports and compliance-related documentation to identify issues.

Job description

Responsible for the overall daily service activity of the entire slot floor. Ensures staff provides outstanding guest service; develops and maintains guest relationships to encourage frequent gaming. Responsible for compliance with company policy and procedures. Develops and maintains guest relationships and provides outstanding guest service. Acts as primary compliance contact during specified shift. Performs Casino Manager duties as assigned.

Job Overview
  • Manages slot operations to ensure delivery of excellent guest service. Acts as primary manager on duty and casino manager when assigned. Resolves difficult guest service concerns, including payment disputes in accordance with the department guidelines.
  • Ensures that all policies and procedures are properly and consistently followed to comply with all regulations. Acts in accordance to regulatory compliance through the monitoring and reporting of Title 31.
  • Verifies and authorizes jackpots and fills in accordance with the minimum internal control standards.
  • Evaluates staffing levels and adjusts or requests additional staffing as needed.
  • Reviews weekly payroll reports and PTO approval.
  • Interviews, selects and hires new team members.
  • Completes performance appraisals on direct reports and reviews all indirect team member performance reviews.
  • Trains, motivates and develops team members.
  • Observes first hand interactions with internal and external guests and coaches to achieve outstanding performance.
  • Establishes relationships with guests through regular guest interaction.
  • Reviews all daily shift reports, team member counsels, guest service reports, incident and injury reports, compliance issues and all other reports and correspondence to identify inconsistencies, corrections and remedies.
Occasional Tasks
  • Acts and is designated as Casino Manager on duty.
  • Ensures that business needs are communicated among all service areas.
  • Prepares monthly financial observations regarding guest service, inventory, staffing, par levels of bill banks and addresses any variances.
  • Authorizes and issues complimentaries according to approval guidelines.
  • Acts as observer and signatory as defined in asset control procedures.
  • Reviews all policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes.
  • Verifies and approves jackpots and short-pays.
