Job summary

Wieland is hiring a 1st Shift Slitting Assistant in Waterbury, CT. You will support the production of material by packaging, handling, and transporting, and operate tinning and slitting machines as directed by supervisors.

This is an on-site, 1st shift role with a starting pay of $23.00 per hour. Working days are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with responsibilities including safety, equipment readiness, warehouse organization, and ensuring QA and customer specs are met.

Qualifications

• Experience reading customer specifications, notices and QA alerts.
• Commitment to Wieland values and safety policies.
• Strong adherence to safety and PPE requirements.
• Ability to follow job safety analyses and operate within standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks safely and identify hazards in production.
• Operate tinning and slitting machines as directed by supervisors.
• Supply operators with materials and supplies as needed.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse area.
• Pack material per customer specs and QA alerts.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Operate Sit Down forklifts safely.
