Job summary

Wieland is hiring a 2nd Shift Slitting Operator for their Waterbury, CT facility. You will set up and operate slitter machines, monitor material and machine parameters, and ensure safety and quality specifications are met.

The role is on-site with a 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm) and a weekly pay schedule. Requirements include 3–5 years of coil slitter experience, English literacy, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• Maintain production records and logs.
• 3–5 years' experience running coil slitters or similar machinery.
• Able to perform basic industrial math.
• Familiar with micrometers and calipers.
• Mechanically inclined with hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and PPE/JSP documents.
• Read and follow work instructions for equipment.
• Detect and report faulty operations or materials.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Set up and operate slitter machines; monitor parameters.
• Use gauges and controls to verify product specs.
• Move material with forklifts/cranes as needed.
• Direct one or more operators to maximize uptime.
• Operate rewind, core cutter, saws; perform light maintenance.
