Job summary

Wieland in Waterbury, CT is hiring a Slitter Helper to support production in the Slitting and Annealing departments. You will assist the Operator, handle packaging and material transport, and help keep the work area safe and orderly on the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities include safe operation of forklifts, packaging to customer specs, and reporting any faults to the supervisor. A High School Diploma or equivalent and basic math skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English and maintain production records.
• Ability to pass required on-the-job training and signoffs.
• Reliable attendance and employment history.
• Ability to perform simple math (addition/subtraction).
• Good decision-making and organizational skills.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable with small hand tools.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks safely and identify hazards in production.
• Adhere to safety analyses and training requirements for hourly workers.
• Uphold standards set by management and supervisor.
• Assist Operator with required tasks and operate basic rewind equipment.
• Package material per specs and QA alerts; report faults.
