Job summary

SteelSummit Holdings, Inc is seeking a setup person for the slitting line to configure arbors and ensure precise slit widths per customer requirements. The role involves assembling tooling, following PN data, and using setup software to generate shimless setups.

You will measure with tape measure, caliper and micrometer, calibrate tools daily, and input data into the system. The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment.

• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line with spacers, knives, and rings.
• Determine required widths per customer orders using PN data and instructions.
• Use setup software and PN data to create shimless setups.
• Measure dimensions with tape measure, caliper and micrometer and verify against specs.
• Calibrate measurement tools daily and record results.
• Enter widths and parameters into software to generate setup data.
• Determine clearance using the provided chart.
• Load and thread master coil to the slitter head; band material as needed.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the work area.
• Train for next phase of slitter operation and assist chief operator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
