Job summary

Steelsummit Holdings in Lavergne, TN 37086 is seeking a skilled setup operator for the slitting line. You will assemble tooling, determine widths from part numbers, and input data into our setup software to achieve precise, shimless slitter setups.

Daily responsibilities include calibrating tape measures/tools, loading master coils, and maintaining 5S standards in a busy steel manufacturing environment. Strong teamwork and safe work habits are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Must meet physical requirements, including lifting 50 pounds and standing on concrete all shift.
• Must communicate effectively and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line using spacers, knives, and stripper rings.
• Determine required widths using PN data and customer orders.
• Enter widths and parameters into the setup software to generate setup information.
• Calibrate measurement tools daily and record results.
• Load and thread a master coil up to the slitter head and be able to band material when needed.
