Job summary

thyssenkrupp is seeking a certified material handler to operate cranes, forklifts and related equipment on the warehouse floor. You will pull, inspect and verify products, set up equipment to follow run notes, and ensure compliance with specifications while recording measurements.

Responsibilities include maintaining tagging systems, assisting in packaging, and supporting lean/quality initiatives. This role emphasizes safety and routine training on a busy shop floor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write.
• Lifts up to 40 lbs and performs basic math.
• Lean/quality mindset preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes, forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Pull, inspect and verify product before processing.
• Set up equipment to run material per setup notes.
• Process setup notes according to work order specs.
• Verify product meets setup specs and record measurements.
• Communicate changes/clarifications to orders with sales.
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance and general clean‑up.
• Enter/delete material ID tags as directed.
• Assist in packaging material per instructions.
• Maintain measurement equipment in working order.
• Operate weighing scale and record measurements.
• Identify and segregate scrap and non-conforming material.
• Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality.
• Follow safety procedures and work without risking self or others.
• Train others when required.
• Assist lean and quality activities.
• Work directly on warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
