Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Materials NA in Brook Park, OH, is seeking a Plate Saw Operator for the 1st shift to apply metal to customer orders and process material according to work orders. You will maintain equipment and the work area in a safe, clean condition while accurately entering information.

The role requires operating cranes and forklifts, setting up machinery, inspecting products, recording measurements, and contributing to lean and quality initiatives on the warehouse floor.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in the material handler position.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Plate Saw Operator – 1st Shift

Pay: $23.08 per hour.

Job Summary

Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to work order specifications. Ensure processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition, maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner, complete all required information entry accurately, and perform any other tasks as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

• Must be certified in the material handler position.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Pull, inspect and verify product before processing.
• Properly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.
• Process set up notes according to work order specifications.
• Verify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements.
• Communicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes or clarification to orders.
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance and general clean-up.
• Properly enter or delete material identification tags per written instructions.
• Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order.
• Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
• Properly operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements.
• Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
• Complete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put oneself or others in an unsafe situation.
• Train others when required.
• Assist in any activities related to lean and/or quality.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Perform basic math skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Use of handheld measuring tools.
• Computer literate.
