Job description

Job Title: Slitting Machine Operator

Shifts Available:

• 2nd Shift: (Cary location) 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, M-F

Required Skills:

• Must be at least 18 years or older and able to pass our Reading and Ruler tests.
• 1+ years of manufacturing/operator experience is a PLUS but not required.
• 2+ years of mechanical experience (e.g., taking cars or machines apart) is required.
• Ability to stand and walk for 12-hour shifts.
• Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to calculate footage and lineal footage.
• Ability to make and interpret measurements with a standard ruler to 1/16 of an inch (must pass a pre-employment ruler test).
• Physically fit with no restrictions, able to lift up to 65 lbs, and capable of pushing, pulling, and maneuvering large rolls of materials weighing several hundred pounds using equipment.
• Must be able to squat, bend, crouch, and kneel.
• Ability to tolerate chemicals and occasional strong odors.
• Previous ISO experience in manufacturing or light industrial environment is preferred.
• Experience in lamination, packaging, or pharmaceutical industry is a plus, but training will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

The Slitting Machine Operator supports the press, lamination, and pouch departments, as well as customer rollstock business by slitting materials.
